Vor dem Hintergrund sich gegenwärtig vollziehender globalisierter Umbrüche prägten sich in der jüngsten Vergangenheit unterschiedliche Praktiken der Solidarität aus, in deren Kontext Menschen kollektive Handlungsformen einer kooperativen Verbundenheit entwickeln. Das Projekt hat das Ziel, die Strukturen und Dynamiken, Bedingungen und Grenzen dieser Praktiken zu untersuchen und den Solidaritätsbegriff in seinen unterschiedlichen Verwendungsweisen in den Blick zu nehmen. Die erkenntnisleitende Fragestellung lautet, welche neuen Formen solidarischer Praxis sich im Zeichen transnationaler gesellschaftlicher Umbrüche ergeben – bzw. genauer: was tatsächlich neu an ihnen ist, inwiefern sie transnational sind, wie die entsprechenden Praktiken vollzogen bzw. in welcher Weise sie sozial organisiert werden und globale Prozesse prägen.
Es handelt sich um ein interdisziplinäres Forschungsprojekt im Rahmen der Förderlinie „Zusammenhalt stärken in Zeiten von Krisen und Umbrüchen“, gefördert durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung von 2018-2021, welches gemeinsam mit den Lehrstühlen von Prof. Dr. Stephan Lessenich (Soziologie, LMU München) und Prof. Dr. Dietmar Süß (Geschichte, Universität Augsburg) durchgeführt wird.

Practices of Solidarity: Structures and Dynamics of Transnational Solidarity in the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries
Against the background of current global upheavals, different practices of solidarity have emerged in the recent past with people developing collective forms of action of a cooperative connectedness. The aim of the project is to examine the structures and dynamics, conditions and limits of these practices and to look at the concept of solidarity in its various manners of use. The guiding question is which new forms of practices of solidarity arise in the context of transnational social upheavals - or more precisely: what is actually new to them, to what extent are they transnational, how the respective practices are carried out or how they are socially organized and shape global processes.
It is an interdisciplinary research project within the framework of the funding line "Strengthening cohesion in times of crisis and upheaval", funded from 2018-2020 by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and carried out together with the chairs of Prof. Dr. Stephan Lessenich (Sociology, LMU Munich) and Prof. Dr. Dietmar Süß (History, University of Augsburg).
