Module Studies
Ethics of Intercultural Dialogue.
About the Programme
EID equips students and professionals from around the world to address pressing ethical questions in their workplaces and communities through a rigorous intercultural lens. Grounded in philosophical reflection and enriched by political theory, interreligious dialogue and (inter)cultural philosophy, the programme fosters a resilient and dynamic culture of encounter.
Over 1.5 years, participants engage deeply with today’s most urgent issues — from social media, war journalism, and medical ethics to climate crisis, human rights and democracy, political extremism, and global business ethics. The programme combines theoretical depth with practical relevance.
Participants study according to their own pace, yet within a small group of international students including people from marginalized contexts in an innovative and well accompanied online environment.

Target Groups
EID is designed for working professionals and leaders who are confronted with the challenges of globalization and are particularly interested in philosophical ethical reflection.
These are, for example, people who work in international companies, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, churches, advocacy groups, medical fields incl. care work, social work, political institutions, or as freelance consultants.
EID is also attractive for students who seek expertise in intercultural communication. Since this programme is a collaborative effort with Jesuit Worldwide Learning, marginalized people and refugees from around are also a key target group.
What do you gain?
EID prepares you to engage constructively with people across differences. You develop ethically sound strategies in a globalized world. You gain critical thinking skills based on philosophical reasoning. EID enables you to maneuver through ethical dilemma situations in diverse environments. It helps to build sustainable institutions and corporate cultures that attract and inspire international talent. You learn about yourself and gain knowledge about intercultural dialogue by practicing it throughout the programme.

„As experienced pediatrician, I am enthusiastically pursuing the M.A. ‚Ethics‘. Seeing the intercultural dimension in medical ethics opened a new window of ethical perspectives for me. Intercultural dialogue fosters the tension between being curious about otherness and critically reflecting on oneself. Thus, EID will be a huge inspiration with global reach, its innovative approach will make a difference for urgent ethical challenges!“
