His influential books, including "Cosmopolitanism: Ethics in a World of Strangers" and "The Ethics of Identity," address complex issues of identity, diversity, and global justice. Appiah’s interdisciplinary approach bridges philosophy with insights from history, literature, and social science, making his work both accessible and impactful. Through his scholarship and public engagement, he has significantly contributed to contemporary discussions on morality, culture, and the global interconnectedness of humanity.
The session will be online and open to the public. It consist of two parts. In the first part Lena Schützle and Krisha Kops will be in conversation with Prof. Appiah. We will try to connect Appiah's work with the findings of our seminar "Ethical Implications of Identity and Self - Perspectives from Intercultural and Feminist Philosophy ". Thereafter Appiah will answer questions from the audience.
