Module Studies
Ethics of Intercultural Dialogue.

About the Program

EID equips students and working professionals from around the world to address pressing ethical questions in their workplaces and communities through an intercultural lens. Grounded in philosophical reflection and enriched by political theory, interreligious dialogue and (inter)cultural philosophy, the program fosters a diverse culture of encounter.

Over a period of three semesters (1.5 years), students engage deeply with today’s most urgent issues — from social media, war journalism, and medical ethics to climate crisis, human rights and democracy, political extremism, and global business ethics. The program combines theoretical depth with practical relevance unlocking transformative experiences.

Participants study in their own pace within a small group of international students including people from marginalized contexts in an innovative and well accompanied online environment. Being part of vibrant university networks, students gain access to other national and international university learning platforms supplied byJesuit Worldwide Learning, the Kircher Network or the virtuelle hochschule bayern (vhb).

Target Groups

EID is designed for working professionals who find themselves confronted with complex challenges of a globalizing world and who are particularly interested in philosophical reflection on ethical topics. These are, for example, people who work in international companies, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, churches, advocacy groups, medical fields, care work and social work, political institutions, or as freelance consultants. EID is also attractive for students who seek expertise in intercultural communication. Since this program is a collaborative venture with Jesuit Worldwide Learning, marginalized people and refugees from around are also a key target group.

„As experienced pediatrician, I am enthusiastically pursuing the M.A. ‚Ethics‘. Seeing the intercultural dimension in medical ethics opened a new window of ethical perspectives for me. Intercultural dialogue fosters the tension between being curious about otherness and critically reflecting on oneself. Thus, EID will be a huge inspiration with global reach, its innovative approach will make a difference for urgent ethical challenges!“
